Amber Antonelli grew up in California just north of San Fransisco in a family of jewelers. Throughout high school she made beaded pieces for her mother Lucia Antonelli a successful jewelry designer. Amber pursued her passion and went on to become a professional chef working in high end restaurants and private homes. She enjoyed cooking fulltime for next 13 years while maintaining a small one of a kind jewelry business.

Throughout her culinary journeys she also took many extended trips and developed her love for distant lands. One of her favorite places became an Island in the Gulf of Thailand where she spent 5 months working as a dive master and also in the dive resort's restaurant. Amber would work throughout her travels drinking in the local cultures, temples, museums and local markets.

In 2005 while studying Spanish in Guatemala she discovered yoga and was instantly hooked. Upon returning to the states and the hectic restaurant world, she immersed herself in a new passion, cultivating a new found sense of stillness. In 2007 after leaving restaurants to pursue private chef work, Amber took her first yoga teacher training course with the desire to elevate her practice as well as share it with others. She then went on to teach private classes while continuing to cook and make jewelry part time.

Always inspired to return to her island paradise, Amber finally decided to put her culinary career and hectic lifestyle on hold and create a business that would allow her to travel and live abroad. Escape Artist was born in October 2009. Amber has Escaped to Thailand with her boyfriend and business partner Anthony Esposito to create Modern Global Jewelry from across the world.
